Somewhere along the line of development Strain changed from being a good looking prototype to an almost complete game. They grow up so fast.
Tomorrow is our set date for beta and all is looking good. It has been quite some time since my last real update for Strain and much has happened. Firstly we have a shiny new working menu screen.

Above is the opening screen that leads to the main menu, and below is the level select screen:
Strain has also received a face lift with new models and camera effects. The player models has yet to receive a material but just trust me when I say it's going to look good. Really good.
Lastly, I have added new gameplay elements to tie this game together, give it meaning and purpose and hopefully make it more fun. In the above screenshot you can see the level timer that counts down to 0, meaning the player has to act quickly to beat the level before they run out of time. I also added a 'threat bar' that fills when you kill enemies while decaying slowly over time. When the bar fills completely, the boss spawns.
Over the next couple of weeks we will be adding the final polish to the game and fixing any remaining bugs.
